Amazon Alexa now available on new and existing Land Rover models

Land Rover announced last month that Amazon Alexa would now be available on all new and existing Land Rover and Range Rover models that feature the Pivi Pro infotainment system. This new feature can be added to the infotainment system through an over-the-air update.  Amazon Alexa will provide Land Rover and Range Rover owners with many of the same functionality they already enjoy at home.

For example, it is possible to command a variety of functions using the Alexa voice experience which is intuitive to use. Commands such as "Alexa, play my music" give drivers the ability to control the audio system with voice controls. The system can also be used by drivers to control the navigation as well as receive information on their schedule, latest news, and the weather.

"The seamless integration of Amazon Alexa with our Pivi Pro infotainment system gives customers simple, intuitive voice control of regularly used features, making the driving experience even more enjoyable. The fact we can also offer this new feature to existing customers proves the value of our software-over-the-air-updates", says Alex Heslop, director of electric and electronic engineering at Land Rover.

First introduced on the redesigned Range Rover, Amazon Alexa will now be available on all new Land Rover and Range Rover vehicles as well as on current vehicles with the Pivi Pro infotainment system.
