If you're like me—and like most people—you probably don't go for the most loaded version of the model you're interested in, and you definitely don't check every single box on the options list. Still, that doesn't stop us from dreaming and imagining what it would be like if we suddenly won the lottery. That's why I decided to do the exercise with Land Rover today.
The idea here is to let go and spend without limits. The most affordable model in the lineup is the Land Rover Range Rover Evoque, starting at $62,550, which is fairly reasonable. Ironically, what we want today is to be anything but reasonable.
At the Top of the Line
To rack up the highest possible bill at Land Rover, you need to head straight for the Range Rover. The model starts at $145,540. But as you already know, we're not sticking to the base version today. We're jumping directly to the long-wheelbase SV Noir edition, with a sticker price of $321,035—more than double the base model.
For that price, you get nothing less than a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 engine producing 606 horsepower. However, what really makes this version stand out is its strikingly dark finish, which certainly doesn't go unnoticed.
As you can imagine, customization options at this level are fairly limited, but the Land Rover Range Rover SV Noir still offers a few à-la-carte features. That's also why the SV Noir technically isn't the most expensive of the bunch. The SV version starts at $304,645 but offers far more options, allowing the total price to climb to over $373,710. I tried several combinations, and that's the maximum I managed to reach.
It's an astronomical sum, and you'd need a very healthy budget to afford such a machine. Still, I believe that those who can afford it should absolutely indulge when configuring and personalizing such a prestigious and inherently expensive vehicle.
